BARRY VERMEULEN, Property Manager and Vice-President, Operations

Mr. VerMeulen joined Paul Associates in November 2000 and has worked in the field of property management for over fifteen  (15) years, with both on-site and portfolio responsibilities.  He has a history of challenging leadership and management experience, specializing in the preparation and analysis of budgets, project management, and extensive facilities rehabilitation experience.  Mr. VerMeulen is a detail-oriented person who also has the ability to grasp and apply broad concepts.  His continuous quality improvement initiatives have enhanced the quality of life and contributed to improved curb appeal and property values in communities under his guidance.

Mr. VerMeulen’s experience includes recruiting and training property managers and maintenance supervisors; supervising on-site staffs, large and small; coordination and enforcement of contractor warranties; preparation and coordination of bid specifications; overseeing of contractor performance; and preparation of monthly financial documents for multiple sites.

Mr. VerMeulen holds a Bachelor of Science degree, with a major in economics, from Regis University in Denver, Colorado and an Associate’s degree in Architectural Technology from the Community College of Denver, Colorado.  He is a notary public in the State of Maryland.  He is active in the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).  He is an Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) and a Certified Property Manager (CPM) candidate with the Institute of Real Estate Management.  Mr. VerMeulen is also a licensed property manager with the DCRA Real Estate Commission in the District of Columbia.
